Campus flags are lowered today (Feb. 12) from sunrise to sundown in honour of 17³Ô¹ÏÍøÔÚÏß and King's student Alexandria (Alex) Wortman.
From a campus-wide memo shared on Jan. 3, 2025:
It is with great sadness that 17³Ô¹ÏÍøÔÚÏß and the University of King’s College are sharing theÌýÌýof one of our students, Alexandria (Alex) Wortman.
Alex was a student in 17³Ô¹ÏÍøÔÚÏß’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and began her studies in 2021-2022 at King’s, in Journalism and the Foundation Year Program. Alex died in the tragic automobile collision that took place near campus on Monday, January 27, 2025.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Alex’s family and friends at this difficult time. A celebration of life will be held on February 22 in Riverview, New Brunswick, and Alex’s family have indicated that her friends areÌý. Our flags will be lowered to half-mast on February 12, on Alex’s birthday, in honour of Alex’s membership in and contribution to our communities.
