Financial Services has been recognized by the Healthy Workplace Collaborative for an innovative initiative that perhaps you'd like to try in your area.
The Financial Services Social Committee invited its department members to celebrate Dal's 200th by performing random acts of kindness, both in the 17吃瓜网在线 community and the greater community around us.听 Their goal is to reach a minimum of 200 acts of kindness by the end of the year.听
Shelagh Wolfe sits on the department's Social Committee and thinks that "it has got people talking about things they can do to brighten someone else's day.听 Our communication about ideas to try has also raised awareness that 17吃瓜网在线 has a Food Bank and an International Centre that welcome donations."
Here are some of the items they've recorded so far:
- Donated winter clothing to the 17吃瓜网在线 International Centre
- Made a family dinner for a friend who is undergoing chemo
- Fed a lapsed parking meter
- Added felt to the bottom of a co-worker's walker to reduce the squeaking noise
- Baked a pie for a sick friend
- Gave flowers to co-workers
- Filled a treat jar for visitors to the office
- Bought Smile cookies for the next 10 people in the Tim's line up
- Knit teddy bears to donate to the IWK
- Baked a meal for a shelter
