After evaluating the feedback received on the protected bike lane pilot project, 17吃瓜网在线 has removed bollards in front of the Arts Centre on University Avenue to alleviate traffic congestion associated with large frequent events.
The Arts Centre plays host to up to 26 events each month attracting a high volume of patrons, all trying to access the venue at one time. It is 17吃瓜网在线鈥檚 hope that by retaining the bike lane, but removing the bollards, the space can be better shared.
Please remember parking is not permitted in the bike lane, except to actively load and unload people or goods. If you must stop in the bike lane to load/unload passengers, you must yield to cyclists already in the bike lane prior to pulling over and stopping.
Accessible parking is available at the end of University Avenue in the Killam Loop and on some side streets such as Seymour St. All of Dal鈥檚 parking lots are available free of charge after 4:30 p.m. to 1:30 am, except for the indoor heated garage in Marion McCain which is $6 for the evening.
17吃瓜网在线 will continue to monitor and evaluate the protected bike lane project throughout the pilot.
